The Beano Alphabet launched at exhibition

Posted by John Patrick Reynolds on

I am launching my new range – The Beano Alphabet – at a week long show in central London.

I have screenprinted an entire alphabet of individual letters, each selected from the archives of The Beano for the brilliance of its design.

In have written the background of each letter underneath each screenprint – so, for instance, the letter A is from the logo of the first issue of The Beano back in 1938.

I have printed every one in my standard format, ie 26cms x 19cms and have these in stock.
I will print them in my largest format, 76cms x 56cms on a commission basis.

Single letters
Initial letters are powerful emblems and will make great presents.

Combinations
The letters can also be sold in combinations of initials or to make short words – such as “JPR” or “LOVE”.

Prices
Each 26cms x 19cms screenprint is £40 unframed, but you save £10 when you buy a combination. So, two screenprints together are £70; three are £110; four are £150.
Each 76cms x 56cms screenprint is £280 unframed.

Black wooden frames
I can supply screenprints float-mounted and framed in black wooden frames up to a maximum of four letters. The screenprints are float-mounted so that the deckled and torn edges of the mould-made paper is visible.
Two screenprints mounted and framed: £120
Three screenprints mounted and framed: £170
Four screenprints mounted and framed: £225

“The Beano Alphabet” is on at The Showcase, 33-35 St John’s Square, London EC1M 4DS, from Tuesday March 25 until Sunday March 30, 11am until 7pm daily except Saturday 19, 11am until 5pm and Sunday 20 April, 11am until 3pm.

The nearest Tube is Farringdon.
